(December 9th,2011) Suspect running from police crashes into a gas station in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Caught from multiple angles by surveillance camera's.

PITTSBURGH -- Police are investigating after the driver of a stolen van crashed into the Sunoco A-Plus store early Friday morning along the Boulevard of the Allies. Police said the van was left parked but running when Derek Sharpe, 29, jumped in and fled.Police said Sharpe, of New Kensington, had been at the emergency room at UPMC Presbyterian and was causing problems, so officers were called.Sharpe then left the emergency room and unsuccessfully tried to steal cars two separate times before stealing a University of Pittsburgh van near Roberto Clemente Drive, police said.

After taking the van, police said Sharpe crashed into the A-Plus store.“He was not being pursued,” said Chief Timothy Delaney of the University of Pittsburgh Police Department. “For whatever reason, he drove right through the building. We got a call for a van inside Sunoco, and we were out looking for him. This is where he turned up.”Workers said Sharpe crashed into the store on purpose because he was angry the clerk wouldn't give him items for free."I said, 'You have to pay.' He was checking for money but didn't find anything. He got angry and started the engine," said clerk Ana
Seledkova.Seledkova said it sounded like a bomb went off. Police said she and two other customers inside of the store are lucky they didn't get hurt."I was so scared. I didn't know where they [the customers] were. If they were in the section he broke they could be injured. They could be killed," Seledkova said.Sharpe was arrested after running from the scene, police said, and is being held in the Allegheny County Jail.
