  • Why does everyone keep calling this a MEGASTORM? It's a category 1 hurricane, nothing more than a popcorn fart. The only reason the tide is high, is due to a full moon. If this storm was in Florida, everyone would be going about their business like it was a normal day. The media has everyone in a panic for no reason.

    • @xerodfx He explained it in the report. Because though the wind speeds are not as high, the damage caused may still be high because of the wide range. If ALL powerlines go down in an isolated area, that can be fixed with help from surrounding areas. But if many, but not all powerlines are down, in a large area, then each are cannot expect much help, so the problem is greater even if you disregard the multiplication of damage.     • @John_Matrix It's not going to get any stronger than it is. The 90mph winds are not sustained winds. They are gusts. It's a sorry ass category 1 hurricane. It's not the storm of the century or "frankenstorm". Most of the storm is already over land. It's going to piss out real soon. There is nothing on the back end. I live in florida, and have seen and been through many. This is nothing more than a category 1 which isn't shit.

  • They said on Swedish TV that many thousands of people had been forcibly evacuated. I guess the swesish term is ambiguous, I guess it would be the translation of "mandatory" as well.
