      You are so right! It's a MBT, for the mobility kill I doubt that tracks supports a rpg direct shoot at short distance but if this ass hole was shutting his mouth we could hear the tank looses the tracks.

      Distance does not matter on a warhead, the RPG will explode the same at 30 feet or 3000 feet, and if it blew the track off we'd see it in the last few seconds of the video.

      Also, tracks normally have side skirts, and a fully wartime armored t-72 would probably have reactive armor on the skirts.

  • That round destroyed nothing. A T-72 (there is no such thing as a T-66) can easily take a RPG-7 hit to the side. A top or rear hit would (like any other tank) probably be the only way a single RPG round could disable/destroy a tank.

    • @sakb Depends whether the reactive armor has been hit already. Nato went with composite, the Russians use reactive explosive armour. It blows out when hit negating the blast. But if it hit metal, unless it ricocheted it still has a good chance of damaging something important. Remember Grozny.
