The film tells the whole story of the Siege of Wukan villagers in Guangdong, China. After over a dozen times of petition for the recovery of the land, direct confrontation with the Chinese Government finally broke out on September 21, 2011. The villagers chased away the Communist Party Secretary, village government, and the 41-year-long village leader. For three months, facing the government's persuasion, wanted, arrest, and siege of the village, nearly ten thousand uncompromising villagers continued to struggle, paid the price with blood and death. The Chinese Communist Party government eventually withdrew. The villagers finally began in the spring of 2012 to elect their own village committee.

This film is dedicated to all the people in Wukan. We also expect the revelation of the future of China's democratic process: Is this an usual story of overthrowing corrupt officials to greet honest and upright officials? Is this a referable road to a institutionalized virtuous circle? The Wukan incident, reflecting the reality of Chinese society contradiction, stands out on the stage of the era in China...

烏坎·上集80分鐘——本片講述的是中國廣東烏坎村民為討回土地進行長達十幾次上訪後，終於在2011年9月21日和政府爆發了直接沖突，在三個月時間里，面對政府的勸說­、通緝、抓捕和封村，近萬村民毫不妥協，持續抗爭，最終付出了血的代價。

烏坎·下集80分鐘——本片講述的是2011年中國廣東烏坎村村民維權運動中，41年未曾換屆的村支書和村政府被村民趕走，村民自發推舉臨時代表管理村莊，在實施了三個月­的村民自治后，政府最終讓步，村民終於在2012年春天開始選舉自己的村委會。

我們僅以此片獻給烏坎全體人民，以及期望啟示未來中國的民主進程：這是一個推翻貪官迎接清官的尋常故事？還是一條走向制度化良性循環的可鑒之路？烏坎事件由於應對中國社會­的現實矛盾凸顯在時代的舞臺......
