Made to promote the upgrading of Polaris SSBN submarines to carry the new Poseidon missile, this film presents an overview of the United States of America's Undersea Nuclear Force. A brief history of the Polaris SSBNs is presented, including the development of the solid-rocket engine and launch apparatus. Admiral Raborn is shown on the occasion of the first successful undersea launch of a missile from a submarine.
