  • Schools fail because parents fail at parenting and good teachers do not want to put up with a terrible work environment like that. There is nothing wrong with children working. I use to rake leaves or shovel snow, I even use to umpire when I was young.

It's too bad the liberal minded see Newt's comments as a child labor issue and not a moral choice on how to provide food, clothing and shelter for oneself and family in desperate conditions. In other words if the youth in poverty stricken neighborhoods could legaly work maybe they wouldnt be selling pot, crack, cocaine and any other illegal means of creating income.
