  • Not ONLY was Romney not the decision-maker in that case...

    Bain was in the business of buying distressed businesses, then rescuing and growing the companies they took over, something they generally did with great success.

    The business was already, almost by definition, failing before Bain arrived on the scene. Whatever they did, they did because it was necessary. Chances are, without Bain, that man's job would have been lost long before it actually was.

  • This is kind of a lame ad in my opinion, but it is accurate. Romney isn't responsible for his wife's death, but the fact remains if he wouldn't have been laid off by Bain in 2001 his wife would have been covered by his insurance after she could no longer work then became ill.

      It's an example of what Bain did to thousands of people while lining their pockets with hundreds of millions of dollars. Comparing that to what the the world economy has gone through over the past 5 years and pinning the entire mess on Obama is the only far fetched reasoning happening here.

      When he was laid off she did, but neither one of them had insurance when she became sick and died. The fact she got sick and died is not Romney's fault, and that's why I think this ad is lame. But it doesn't change the fact that a lot of people ended up like this couple while Mittens made hundreds of millions of dollars.
