Extinguish fire with sound
DARPA has been working on different ways to put out fire in confined spaces like cockpits and ships.
Sound extinguishes fire by increasing the air speed, thinning the layer where combustion occurs, and acoustics disturb the surface of the fuel which increases vaporisation, widening the flame and cooling its overall temperature.
Seems a lot like the Mythbusters solution scaled up.
