  • Great upload, thanks. One of the main ingredients in modern day English battles is the 'Strongbow', although you couldn't class those who use it as an 'elite fighting force'.

  • The weapon that destroyed most of the French nobility, cocky ego wielding fuckers deserved it too.

    • @leesin I love the fact you've got beef with the French nobility of the 1700's. Brilliant. I've got all kinds of things that wind me the fuck up but that's a new one on me!

    • @leesin You thick cunt I was having a laugh. God you must be the thickest, most humourless cunt on here. I hate the French but the present day ones (and the cowardly ones in two world wars).
      You really are a fuking stupid cunt. Happy Christmas

  • Another historical fact where the longbow fucked the French up was after taking massive losses in previous battles the French decided to invest well in stronger armour which also meant moving a little slower but they were happy to be better protected.

    However, before numerous battles it had rained and the under clothing and leather to protect the joints from the heavier armour had soaked up rain making it heavier and they also got stuck in the rain where it was easier for archers to just aim lo More..

  • Agincourt;
    6,000 archers @ 10 arrows a minute. Each arrow = 50g.
    If my maths is correct that is 3,000kg of arrows falling on the French per minute on a narrow front. pun.
    Not surprising they were feared, and their string fingers cut off if caught- hence the British 'two fingered salute'.
    The figure of 50g arrows was given to me by a French historian at Azincourt, so I'm guessing it's accurate.
