Up to a million supporters of Shi’ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr have converged on Iraq’s southern city of Basra to demand better living conditions.
Coffins displaying words like ‘electricity’ and ‘education’ were carried by demonstrators marking nine years since the start of the US-led invasion. Nearly a decade on, dire poverty persists.
Reading a statement from al-Sadr, his spokesman Sheikh Asaad al-Nasiri urged Iraqis to unite and defeat the US, Israel and other ‘enemies.’
Al Sadr led uprisings against the US presence before American troops withdrew last year. He has now joined mainstream politics and his followers are part of Iraq’s ruling power-sharing coalition.

Stupid jerks. The Americans offered to fix all that and more. But they spit in our faces and killed us instead.
Fuck you Iraqis. You're as dense as the Somalians. We offered you help, you rejected it. So now go and fuck yourselves. Solve your own damn problems. Or don't. We really don't care any more.

i hope they all get Cholera and Dysentery and die, in the dark, without air conditioning, wallowing in their own bodily waste, and have their bloated corpses fed on by wild dogs.

If i remember correctly, The Mahdi Army was no resistance group on a national level nor an Islamic level. A extremist sectarian gang is all they were.
And i remember clearly the Sunni Insurgents inflicted the most heaviest casualities against the U.S forces in Iraq and not the Shias. Specifically the Sunni Triangle is where most of the American casualties were. Why on earth does this guy claim vicroty? Total bullshit if anything that is the Sunnis victory but the media or whoever controls the w More..

The reaso there is no longer a effective electrical network is all the guys, militia connected, and have generators and sell power to their neighbors. If they can steal and competitors wiring, or the government's electrical service's, they do, and provide electricity at a cost to the people who could and should get it fro a proper source.
As for education, Madrasa's don't count.
Pipelines get tapped so people can steal oil and fuel, and the electrical and sewage grid is just too complicated for More..
