People chant "BLM go away!" Lady with cancer gets tossed and tasers come out

Armed federal agents deployed last week to northeast Clark County, Nev.,
for what can only be described as a major escalation in a decades-long
standoff between a local cattle rancher and the U.S. government.

Protesters
have been gathering over the past few days in support of the Bundy's.
The video shows an incident that happened earlier today where agents
throw a woman to the ground and at least one man is shot with a tazer
several times after the protesters respond to the assault.

  • "Basically this guy's family has been grazing this plot of land since the 1870's. In the 1980's the Feds changed the laws and told him he could no longer graze on that land because an endangered turtle lived there, BUT if he paid them money he could continue to graze his cattle there because fuck that turtle. He told them to fuck off and kept grazing his cattle there, and has been in and out of court for it over the years. However, now we are experiencing a massive cattle shortage in this c More..

  • Do a little research on this guy. The BLM came in with a swat team, snipers and a helicopter to confiscate fucking cows. Shit is ready to explode there. The guy's family has been grazing that land since the 1880's and the feds recently made the land protected status. Just one more example of heavy handed tactics being used by the feds to shit on the little guy.

To further add, the people of the state of Nevada once owned the land until the federal government came in and illegally seized it, they then extorted money from the locals to use their own land.

“I have had people ask me to explain my dad’s stance on this BLM fight. Here it is in as simple of terms as I can explain it. There is so much to it, but here it s in a nut shell. My great grandpa bought the rights to the Bunkerville allotment back in 1887 around there. Then he sold them to my grandpa who then turned them over to my dad in 1972. These men bought and paid for their rights to the range and also built waters, fences and roads to assure the survival of their cattle, all with their own money, n More..

"The BLM and the National Park Service have closed off public access to almost 600,000 acres of federal land for the roundup.

Bundy considers much of that public land to use as he sees fit, but the BLM canceled his federal grazing permit 20 years ago after the rancher refused to accept new land-use rules for protecting the threatened desert tortoise and stopped paying his fees."

  • So I did some research, and this guy has been letting his cattle graze in protected habitat, public land.

The response is ridiculously Orwellian, but this issue has nothing to do with freedom or liberty. I'm sure he'd have issues with the government letting their animals graze oh his land.

      Do some more research.

You will learn the public land belongs to the state of Nevada, not the US government.

His family and that ranch, (the last ranch in Nevada, btw), has been grazing on that land for over 100 years, and the federal government is asserting this supposed authority over land it does not own in the name of protecting tortoises.

I didn't say federal government. State government is still government.

If he doesn't own the land, he has no rights to it. If I let my cat shit every day in the neighbour's garden, it doesn't mean that I own their flowers.

    • @buffmuffin - grazing on that land is NOT the same as owning it. Sorry. And all ranchers that graze on BLM land must pay grazing fees. He owes a million dollars in fees, and has been illegally grazing for twenty years. They are using the tortoise issue because they havent been able to get him to pay or get his cattle off the land. First Causes. Research them.

The land just became "protected land" a few years ago. They've been running their cattle here for decades. Every other rancher has been put out of business because of this. He's one of the last and he just refused to comply. The only choice he has is to shut down like the rest. The same thing happened to my family in AZ.

Yet, the government is saying that if he pays a grazing fee, it is fine for his cattle to graze there.

If cattle grazing there would endanger a species why would they even offer the option of paying a fee to graze there.

Either it is bad for the endangered species if cattle graze there or it is not. How More..

Bundy had the right to graze on the land until 1993 because he paid the fees.

He quit paying the BLM fees in 1993, and lost his right to graze on the land, the BLM has been dealing with him for decades trying to peacefully get him to comply with the law, but Bundy feels the law does not apply to him.
