  • This is all starting to remind me of Fahrenheit 451.

  • Kinda like a fish finder for cops to catch crooks. Sounds good to me, boys.

  • I hate this system...most of the sheriffs and state troopers are using this damn thing now

    • Why do you hate it? If you're insured with a valid driver's license, haven't stolen a car or robbed a store recently, it should be of no significance to you.

    • I'm "pretty law abiding" myself, but I will always fight any infringement on my civil AND personal rights. I don't want the Government to have ANYTHING to do with my life!

  • A similar system has been in use in the UK for some time now, it makes a yabba-dabba-do flintstones sound when you get a match.

I don't personally have an issue with this at all, finally the police have an effective tool to identify unlicensed and crime-related plates leading to fewer random stops and more efficient use of police time.

What you need to be more worried about are the systems which are at the side of the road (like on motorways) which not only flag plates of interests, but can ke More..

  • one thing that bothers me there is, why is the video montitor in the police car facing the driver, is that not a driving distraction, like using a mobile phone whilst driving, shouldn't the police be more responsible and keep there eyes on the road at all time, hey its there rules and they're beaking them.

  • Biometrics is already being used to give your finger print numbers. Used at many places as a time clock.
We have facial recognition also here in the US at airports and other areas.
