@rafaelcastelar They were thought to have been derived from that geographic region, however way before Islam was a religion.. And nobody ivented numbers or math, the symbols used to represent numeric values or numeric punctuation had to be created, but before that people still understood 1+2=3.

@rafaelcastelar Lol if you count the abacus as a computer, which it's not.
Algorithms were not invented by Muslims, the word was just adapted from them. "The Alphabet" created by Muslims was in fact more of a collection of ideograms, obscure to all who weren't taught what each meant. Numbers and mathematics have always existed, Muslims can't claim those either, perhaps standardizing the representation of those numbers.
