Good looking healthy Pituophis catenifer.Nice size as well. Had one as a pet when I was a wee lad of 6. They tame up pretty well after they find out where their next meal comes from.

Right on! I'm putting up a video I took here at my ranch of some 'White Phased' and 'Light Gray' phased Rat snakes that live in and near my barns. These Bull Snakes in the Wild are mean as hell.But once you handle them,feed them and show them that you are not out to hurt them they tame up fine.

I'm almost positive that car has Washington plates on it and that's where I am.
That link is a video I did a few weeks ago and has a nice close up of a Gopher snake.

I posted a close-up vid of a Gopher snake and rattlesnake for comparrison a few months back. We're neighbors so of course we see them both frequently as well.

I couldn't believe how agressive the gopher snake is. He has similar markings to a rattler (minus viper shaped head and rattle).

@mediaeinstein What is interesting is that they have the jaws that unhinge so they can swallow the larger prey. The snakes I have encountered were all pretty docile, but then, I respect nature and wasn't messing with it.
