1,000+ fishing baots are sailing to waters around Diaoyu Island while activists in Taiwan and Hong Kong say they will land on the Island again on 9/18, the day Japan occupied China's Manchuria 81 years ago, which is considered China's national humiliation day. The Chinese govt says it will protect Chinese people and property by all means in China's territorial waters, including those around Diaoyu Island. The US says the defense treaty between Japan and US is applicable to Diaoyu Island, which means the US is going to defend the island for Japan if China attacks.
