Nice shop, quite a lot like mine.
That smith is using hardwood charcoal as fuel. I use bituminous coal (Pocahontas #2) which completely lacks the flurry of dancing "fleas". Charcoal provides a great fuel to weld with because it burns very clean without the sulphur of coal but you'll go through a great heap more of it twice as fast and five times the cost and those fleas really are a pain in the arse (and everywhere else they happen to land).

@Barremel He was making simple things like fire pokers, dinner chimes and coat/hat racks.
The paddle steamers are the largest operating fleet in the world. Most of them are are about 150 years old
