Soldier from Kingston dies in Afghanistan
KINGSTON – The Department of Defense announced late Saturday that Pfc. Douglas L. Cordo of Kingston was killed in action Friday in Zabul, Afghanistan, during an enemy attack.
Cordo, 20, died from injuries sustained when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.
Cordo was a member of the 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division out of Fort Wainwright, Alaska.
