If they are dangerous...Cannabis is one of the least dangerous substances a human can consume, it's healthier than most of the food you can buy from the grocery store.

All this guy wants to do is replace government and law of the people, with his religion, and its book.

@Drenigma I wish all leaders are non-religious. But seems to be not the way US wants to go. To say that one doesn't believe in god is political suicide isn't it?

Pretty much...yup...thats the case.
Most of the uber-religious ones fall into the "conservative" category. That way they can use the "less government! Government is evil!" mantra. So they can replace it with their "religion".
They want so much "less government in our lives".
And are so determined to know, and control what we do in our bedrooms.

@Drenigma Both parties are for "less government" when it suits them. Less goverment for corporations and bankers. More government for the people. Its disgusting.

Hey! I agree!
But I dont see "liberals" using the "God Almighty" angle even remotely as often as "conservatives". Both terms (thus the reason in quotes) are a joke nowdays. But they are two separate camps when you HAVE to look using black and white goggles.
My previous statment, and the latter....stand.

@tag261
SO Obama is going to legalize weed?
The man who sat under Jerry Wright is less of a religious nutjob than Santorum?
People don't really understand Santorum's position on state's rights. They can't damage Rick on the true needs of America, so they attack him on issues that are not even part of the discussions in current campaigns.
And here's why I have no respect for you assclowns; I don't see any videos of people asking these questions of the Dem candidates from the 2007 primaries.

@Momus Choose your poison. Obama is a just as toxic as Santorum. Both hazardous to the Republic. There is no hope in more government or more religion in America. Both carry books into the WH, neither of them is the Constitution.

I can't agree. I was a resident of Pennsylvania during Santorum's lengthy tenure there, and there was nothing toxic about his politics.
I don't agree with his social policies, but I've asked before; what insidious social issues has he attempted to legislate?
The problem is that people are not used to politicians who stake their ground rather than running around all the time trying to find common ground with people who will attack them anyway. You always know precisely where More..

@Momus I hear ya. Same thing can be said about Ron Paul. 30 years accurately predicting the future, staying consistent and faithful to his convictions. Yet old man river is unelectable and too old fashioned for the establishment. Oh well, thank God for Fox News, right? They surely knows whats best for us.
I can show you the multiple votes Rick has voted for bigger government and bailouts, but you're smart Momus, you probably know them by now, being a resident of Penn.

dangerous? eat a pound and you die dangerous? not that a person would or could eat a pound but the last i heard it takes a pound eaten in one sitting to kill a person. not safe like alcohol or hydrocodone, where you can easily ingest a fatal dose. santorum is a god damn puppet.

@monkey fcker the cannobinoids in weed does not get to its activated form until it gets to a high enough temperature, that's why we smoke it or heat it with oil. If we ate it it would just be another vegetable

@xyzzjp you are kind of missing the point. the FDA says eating a pound of weed is a fatal dose. you cannot eat a pound of weed, and that like you say is a questionable position to take in the first place. how in the hell is that even considered dangerous is my point. a fifth of vodka could kill a person of a low body weight. how many pain pills? 5 at once? 6 hydrocodone and most people will need help at that point. the toxicity of weed is nothing. salt is more fucking dangerous. eat a pound of s More..

@xyzzjp ever swallow a chunk of hash before? I beg to differ, it's called a body stone and in the 80's we ate as much as we smoked.

@piyoti just for people who don't know, LD50 is the dose for which 50% of test subjects will die.
it is in this case milligrams per kilograms of body weight.

Two problems with this. First, a drug does not have to be fatal to be dangerous. Second, while it may be very difficult of overdose on pure THC, smoking marijuana means breathing in a lot more than THC.
Pot is not a terribly dangerous drug compared to many, but it does affect the brain, and it has been shown to correlate, among teenagers in particular, with higher rates of paranoia and more serious, related psychotic conditions. No, you won't overdose, but you could rewire your bra More..

@buzzardist No one says it is completely harmless, hell breathing in our air these days has risks. I think what most are saying is why ban a drug that has been proven 100 times safer than a product found in every corner store in the US, alcohol.
