The Department of Defense has identified 2,039 American service members who have died as a part of the Afghan war and related operations. It confirmed the deaths of the following Americans recently:
BERRY, Richard L., 27, Staff Sgt., Army; Scottsdale, Ariz.; 82nd Airborne Division.
BRODSKY, Michael J., 33, Petty Officer Second Class, Navy; Tamarac, Fla.; Navy Region Southwest Security Detachment.
COLVIN, Julian L., 21, Pfc., Army; Birmingham, Ala.; 82nd Airborne Division.
PEPPER, Brandon R., 31, Staff Sgt., Army; York, Pa.; Fourth Battalion, Third Special Forces Group.
WILLIAMS, Eric E., 27, Sgt., Army; Murrieta, Calif.; 82nd Airborne Division.
