Ex-Marine Detained by Feds Just Released by Judge (Poll)

The Marine veteran who was detained over anti-government Facebook posts is headed home after a circuit court judge ordered he be released from a psychiatric facility on Thursday, WWBT in Richmond reports. The judge ruled that the government had no legal grounds to detain Brandon J. Raub, a 26-year-old former U.S. Marine, and Virginia resident.

  • "Sharpen up my axe; I'm here to sever heads" is not a very vague statement. On the internet, no one knows that you are a nice guy and mean no harm, of course they took it literally. Interesting that all the other comments go the other way. To each there own I guess.

  • I read everything he posted, he is nutty Alex Jones believer BUT that doesnt justify a snatch and grab. Its all one sided too. Anyone on the right talks like this is targeted yet the Black PUSSY Cats, Occupy, countless commies, proggies etc calling for killings, overturning govt have never been touched.

  • I get the concern about his capability for mayhem (trained, able to really go spooky off the reservation), but what did he actually do? 50% of LL posts have "hate" content (hate blacks, hate whites, hate muslims, hate Obama, hate Romney, hate whatever).

    Was there something additional about this guy that got the law on him?

  • I know many of you hate Glenn Beck but he covered this on his show today and did a great job its worth the watch even if you hate Beck!!

    This is about our rights being infringed and its happening a lot. Beck had Raubs atty on and the guy said in VA alone 20000 cases like this. VA has some insane law on the books that LEO can pretty much do a snatch and grab on the grounds of psychiatric risk! No arrest no charges needed... they think youre nuts they can take you!
