Yesterday CNN's Rick Sanchez was set to go on air and issue an apology for running an unverified quote attributed to Rush Limbaugh. Breaking news of the now-infamous "balloon boy" intervened, and Sanchez was unable to deliver his apology.

I believe that you could have cared less that the quote was unverifiable. I believe that you were hell bent on reporting this regardless of what real fact checking would have turned up. This was a case of %u201Cit is easier to say I%u2019m sorry and get forgiveness%u201D than admit you set out intentionally to do wrong. If you believe for one second that ANYBODY thinks this was an honest mistake you are delusional. I think that Rush has a big mouth and quite often allows his own emotions to cause the most stupid and careless things to come out of his mouth - a fault that he often blames on liberals. He lost me years ago when he used to parody people with AIDS and likewise the homeless. However, he is basically a good man who just shares his opinions and makes commentary on what is going on in this country %u2013 basically entertainment.. However, he has every right, guarantied under free speech protection, to do what he does without fear of the kind of thugish act that you just committed.
You, sir, do not have the right to do what you did. A fee press, in order to stay free, has to act responsibly. You have a responsibility to GET IT RIGHT!!! When you do things like this you make the next person who reports ANYTHING less believable - from the right or the left.
I believe that what motivates all of this is an attempt to criminalize free speech and shut down political voices with which you disagree. Didn%u2019t the left used to be all about free speech? Are not you a refugee from Cuba? Isn't this what Fidel, Che and Raul did to their enemies after the revolution? What more vicious and damaging lie could you spout but that someone would find ANY redeeming feature of slavery? Shame on you!!
I have heard Rush say some amazing things. Things that would make me scratch my head and things that finally prompted me to turn off his program for good but I have never heard him say anything like that. He%u2019s just a big goof.
I believe that you set out to do this and arrogantly believed that you could get away with it. Did you learn anything from what happened to Dan Rather or are you just so stupid that you could believed that nobody would follow up on this. Shame on you!!
