Airshow in Reykjavik,helicopter dumps a car from altitude

Reykjavik airport celebrated its 70th birthday yesterday.
There was a big big airshow and also the history of the airport.
Honorary guests where six British Royal Airforce pilots who where stationed here when the airport opened in 1941 during the second world war .
One of them ,mr. Hugh Eccles made the first landing in a two engine Hudson bomber.
Mr. Eccles was in the No. 269 SQUADRON R.A.F.
You can see them in the first part of the video , being talked to by a local tv station.

The pilot was sick and tired of coming home from a hard days work to find his neighbour had stolen his parking spot. This was the solution.

My Dad was a sparks (radio operator) during the ww2 on a minesweeper, based for a long time in Reykjavik. He hated the place by the way. I asked him once if he wanted to visit & he emphatically said "NO!"
During basic training, recruits were asked if they wanted to volunteer to be on submarines. Few volunteered.
Thet were them asked if anyone wanted to volunteer for mine sweepers. My Dad volunteered figureing that:
1) The Germans put the mines there.
2) They won't go back there. More..
