@voice of the people Yah, bears are pretty dosile much of the time. Other times they are not. They can be extremely viscious. Ever see the movie The Edge? It's got a british guy in it! Sir Sean Connery.. Then there's a true story from the 70's or 80's about one night in a national park somewhere near yellowstone I think, in the Rockys, well one night the bears in the park attacked a number of campers. Violently, killing a number of them. They made a book and a movie called Night of the Grizzly. More..

My favorite uncle,, "uncle Sloppy' ran into one of these things on a camping trip in 1958.
Unfortunatley he and his friend Willy Fripberger were cooking bacon at the time and the bear went nuts. Poor Willy was shredded into strips in seconds.
Uncle Sloppy survived with severe injuries and horrible scars. He never did regain the use of one arm and one eye, and with an ear missing and most of his upper lip gone, it made life a little more difficult.
Uncle Sloppy never compalined and lived to More..
