DARPA Captive Air Amphibious Transporter
"providing supplies and life saving materials to disaster stricken areas
has proved to be difficult and sometimes impossible in the past. The
Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency is hoping to change that with
their new developmental water vehicle. The captive air amphibious
transporter can ride on water and land – including sandy beaches, mud,
ice fields as well as the potential to climb sea walls – making it
invaluable to regions hit by tsunamis, hurricanes and earthquakes.”
