Roger Ramjet and the S.W.A.T TEAM vs. The Internet Meanies !

The long-standing, heavily documented militarization of even small-town American police forces was always going to create problems when it met anonymous Internet threats. And so it has, again—this time in Evansville, Indiana, where officers acted on some Topix postings threatening violence against local police.

They then sent an entire SWATunit to execute a search warrant on a local house, one in which the front door was open and an 18-year old woman sat inside watching TV.

The cops brought along TV cameras, inviting a local reporter to film the glorious operation. In the resulting video, you can watch the SWAT team, decked out in black bulletproof vests and helmets and carrying window and door smashers, creep slowly up to the house.

At some point, they apparently "knock" and announce their presence—though not with the goal

  • So on same account constitution does not give right to a "police" to throw flash bang grenades and vandalize private property because of some suspected internet posts. For all we know the house they raided had unsecured WiFi or PC been hacked and is used as a proxy. Dumbasses, I hope homeowner sues the shit out of that shithole town.

  • With thug tactics like these it's no wonder they're receiving threats.

Another case of the police serving as judge, jury, and executioner.

I say sue, and take the award out of the police pension fund. That'll learn 'em.

Police departments and Sheriff’s offices have always been militarized or at least quasi military as they have a rank structure similar and in some cases exactly like the military with corporals, sergeants, lieutenants etc…

This is done so there is someone in command when bad things happen. What I think you were referring to is cops getting better armed.

So let’s look at the str More..
