I just finished watching a great documentary about the story of the Uruguay Rugby Team whose plane crashed in the Andes mountains. To me, this is one of the most incredible stories of human survival ever recorded.

For those who are familiar with it, you may agree. For those who are not, on Oct.13, 1972 (Friday the 13th) a chartered plane carrying 45 people, including crew, crashed in the Andes mountains. By the end of Oct.14th, 17 people were either dead or missing. By Dec.13, there were only 16 survivors. They were finally rescued by a Chilean rancher on Dec.21 after 2 members made an astonishing 37 miles trek through the mountains in 10 days. All 16 remaining people were rescued.

The reason for the above leads me to my poll question. These people had to survive for over 2 months solely on eating the flesh of their fellow passengers and friends. Many people have called it cannibalism which I find disturbing. Cannibalism is eating human flesh after killing someone and for ritualistic purposes in most cases. These people were already dead and ate flesh as a means of staying alive.

Regardless of how you view it, I encourage you to watch this documentary. It is a fantastic thing to watch especially for those who may be discouraged, depressed or just want to witness a little inspiration. Here is the link and thanks for voting in the poll..............
