A newly-released 17-minute video taken from an NYPD helicopter on September 11th, 2001 shows the events of that day from a new perspective.
The National Institute of Standards and Technology obtained the footage under the Freedom of Information Act as part of its investigation into the day’s harrowing events. The footage was then sent to Cryptome, a site which describes itself as a platform that welcomes “documents for publication that are prohibited by governments worldwide, in particular material on freedom of expression, privacy, cryptology, dual-use technologies, national security, intelligence, and secret governance – open, secret and classified documents – but not limited to those.”
