NBC Admitted: No Assault Rifle Used In Sandy Hook School Shooting
Part of channel(s): Connecticut School Shooting (current event)

When the president surrounds himself with children while giving his announcement that reasonable gun control measures are necessary, bear in mind that those ‘assault rifles‘ the government is sure to be going after were not even used in the Newton, Connecticut elementary shooting. As NBC admits in the video above, four handguns were used to carry out that despicable atrocity. This directly contradicts other reports.

Pete Williams, who is NBC’s chief Justice correspondent, reported the following in the video posted above:

This continues to be a very complex investigation and there is a lot of contradictory information out there, but we have some new information this morning (one month ago) from a couple of federal officials and state officials.

They say now that there were actually four handguns inside the school, not just two as we were initially told. Four handguns and apparently only handguns that were taken into the school.

We knew that Adam Lanza, the man said to be the gunman here, also had an ‘assault-style’ AR-15 -style rifle that he had had taken to the school, it was in the car he drove there, his mother’s car, but we have been told by several officials that he had left that in the car.

The correspondent makes it clear over and over again that he confirmed this information with federal and state officials. Now, a lot of media reports contradict this one, but somebody’s lying. The report that an ‘AR-15-style’ assault rifle was in the trunk of murderer Adam Lanza’s car is up for dispute as well. If one examines footage from police breaking into Lanza’s car, one sees police clearing a round from a “long gun of some type” that does not appear to be ‘AR-15 style’ or ‘assault-style.’

Whether or not the mainstream media are intentionally spreading disinformation about the Sandy Hook elementary tragedy, there is one thing for certain: not only are violent crime rates at a modern low and going down, but only 323 homicides were committed by rifles in 2011. That includes hunting rifles, assault rifles, military style rifles, semi-automatic rifles and whatever label one comes up with, regardless of magazine or clip capacity.

In a nation of 311 million people, the odds of being killed by a rifle is about one homicide per million people, which is far less than the odds of being murdered by a blunt object. But we don’t hear the media arguing about regulating hammers and clubs. Again, when 99.7% of registered gun owners are law-abiding, gun control is not about guns, it’s about control

  • 323 homicides by rifles in 2011 and 486 by hammers and clubs. Hmmmm, are they going to outlaw Golf clubs after someone goes off the deep end after a bad round on the back 9? Guess I'll have to register my framing hammer as a lethal weapon now. Ignorance is running rampant in our government. Enforce the laws already on the books, take away the rights of the prisoners and make them to never want to go back to prison again. Bring back the death penalty and use it-gallows, electric chair and fi More..

"323 homicides by rifles in 2011"

-Not to mention the fact that many of those were police and law abiding citizens defending themselves against criminals.

    • @planestrainsautomobiles yes, but they only give the facts that will get a knee jerk reaction in the direction they want. How about the 16,000+ deaths caused by drunk drivers. To use their quote "If it will only save one child". So I guess alcohol will be next on the list? Hmmm, don't think so as most in Congress swim in it daily.

    • @dredd78 Don't forget the 90,000 deaths due to malpractice last year. Doctors are killing people left and right WITHOUT assault rifles...who da thunk it right?

    • @dredd78 Not talking about abortion. Talking about mis-diagnosis, faulty surgery, human error in the ER, etc.

  • Even that graphic is wrong. So much mis-information.
Bushmaster does not make an "Assault Rifle"
    Bushmaster makes semi-automatic rifles.

    Assault Rifle Defined

And btw, I know plenty of guys that hunt with semi-automatic .223 or .308 rifles.

    (I use a bow...)

  • The MSM US news have become a bunch of hacks.

No better than the British phone hackers, they even tried to convict Zimmerman in the media and made Trayvon out to be some angel when in reality he was a thug now a dead thug.

  • A guy I know well mentioned the other day he's been using an AR-15 for hunting coyotes and deer for a few years now. Guess he didn't hear from the dimwit community you can't use them for hunting. I personally don't like the way they look but have no problem with sane people owning them.

    • @TMoray1 my 9 year old son shoots deer with an m4. with the collapsible stock, it is the only carbine that i have found that fits his frame. he uses a 5 round mag. it doesn't function any differently than my remington 7400, but try telling "them" that.

      define "sane."

    • @PH-DEE

I agree that could be a problem. I know what *I* mean but that's not necessarily the definition the government would come up with. In the cases of the Colorado and Conn shootings those people were far enough over the line there was no doubt they were crazy plus on psycho script drugs. People close to them knew it.

Personally, I think tea party members and occupy protestors are insane. Any personal opinion, however, should not be the basis of law.

  • of course it wasn't but that didn't fit into the Democrats agenda of controlling the population...they are nazi's to the point that would be hitler envious

    Posted Jan-18-2013 By

  • This crime is being thoroughly and exhaustively investigated. The Conn. State police have asked for the FBI to assist. This has the highest priority for them to solve this case...right behind Benghazi and "Fast and Furious".
We don't want to jump to any conclusions.

  • Most of the information that was initially reported was wrong. The Bushmaster was the primary weapon used in the killing. I don't see the point in trying to misinform people. They also thought his mom was a teacher at the school and his brother was the one doing the killing. Everyone is in a rush to be first, so they take whatever they get and run with it.

  • Ihave been wondering why thre is a total blackout on information in this case, and even threat by the Conn State Police, for anybody who releases information. We are passing all thse crazy laws against guns in th middle of the night, and proposing more , like Delaware's, and we have no information about Newtown. Since the FBI is running the show it is obviously controlled directly by Obama.

-The NRA tries with their Eddie Eagle program but liberal school systems work very hard to keep them out. Same goes for other organizations like Scouting, heck there was even an incident where a young man via his firearm education stopped an in progress school shooting. But as usual the media along with progressives ignore it.....

    • @bcool4ever

The Boy Scouts will do it with rifles but they usually only let Venture Scouts get pistol training. The insurance underwriters have a cow over that stuff even though it is wholesome and relatively low risk as far as I can tell.

But didn't the ME say the rifle was used?
