Well, I was waitin' for this. Here in Ohio the rains have quit about a week ago and the farmers are finally able to get into the fields to get the corn planted. My garden's been in since the first week of May but since it's drying out it's starting to take off now. Just chiles and toms this year.
Love the pooch....half a dog high and a dog and a half long. :)

@-sloop- Good luck with your garden, Sloop. Mine's been in since Feb/March, but then again, this is TX. We did have some freezes, but my plants survived. The dog (Winston) is definitely unique. This weekend is "Dog Days" at the city park, and there is actually a contest category for "shortest legs." Plan to enter him. Think he has a chance at winning?

@smeblee Thanks smeb. It was 101 degrees today, and I watered my garden well this evening. It won't be long till the summer heat incinerates everything around here. Towards summer's end I will be getting my fall garden going.

@marinemom He's a great dog, for sure. He's very protective of our daughter and is well-behaved (except in the garden!).

@safetychuck2 Thanks. Been eating well from the garden. Saving money too. I had planned on raising chickens, but it's getting too hot to get that going. I might do the chickens in the fall.

@papapang2007 Thanks for the vote, Papa. We'll see how the habanero harvest goes. Maybe we can resurrect the Live Leak Habanero Eating Challenge. I told Shrekhead about it. He had something growing on his windowsill that apparently was hotter than a habanero.
I plan to make some killer pico de gallo with the habaneros. Only the brave and foolhardy need apply!
