This is probably the most impressive available guncam footage available of a cannon armed JU87.They were taken in February 1943 at the Black Sea in Russia, during the battle of the Kuban Bridgehead.
Stuka Ju87G with 2x 3,7cm Flak. Known as "Kanonenvogel (cannon bird)" or "Panzerknacker (tank cracker)".

  • Stukas were good for this,but according to a documentory i watched very easy to shoot down due to low speed.Spitfires and P51's could pick them out of the sky easily and the Stuka pilots were terrified once they found themselves being hunted by them because they knew what the outcome would be.

    • @Zeb it is very true as the Stuka raids during the Battle of Britain were not very effective.

      On the Eastern front, one cannot admire Hans-Ulrich Rudel who destroyed more than 2000 vehicles, flew 2300 combat sorties mostly in the Stuka, etc.
      His book is interesting because not only it helped on developping the A-10 Thunderbolt II, it also explains how flying Stuka in formation -including dives at 90 degrees- were the best protection for pilots against other faster aircrafts.
