Gym Members Ripped Off

The I-team started taking a close look into San Diego business owner, Chris Butler, after getting complaints from some of his gym members. Butler owns Sweat Boot Camp in Hillcrest and has been a known trainer in the area for years. Before owning Sweat Boot Camp, Butler owned a personal training business called “Results Fitness.” That business was also based in Hillcrest.
Recently, members of Sweat Boot Camp vented their concerns saying they were being charged hundreds of dollars for no reason. An online search revealed this was happening to dozens of Butler’s members. The I-team reviewed online complaints on Yelp.com and Craigslist.com under ‘rants and raves.’ Victims were saying between $100 to $450 was being swiped from their credit cards or debit cards overnight. The I-team obtained a record of charges which totalled about $30,000 in apparent fraudulent transactions. One victim claims she was charged $150 on three different occasions.

MindBody Online is the company that manages the gym’s online billing. The company confirmed the number of charges waved red flags. After also receiving complaints from angry members, the company shut down the service preventing Butler from running anyone else’s credit card...
