  • I need to study the origins of the black flag in Islam, up to recently I had never even heard or known about that.

    I wonder if that is why we have been taught that black flags are "bad" our whole lives because of some ancient battle between Christians and Muslims.

      As far as i know the Black Flag with the "Shahada" in this video (which says There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah) is the flag used by the Islamic Army, during war, also called the flag of Jihad).

      Yeah but all these guys take their traditions from the hadith so I figured (correctly) that Muhammad used it at some point in his campaigns. I mean why choose a black flag? That is a strange color but like I said it all goes back to what Muhammad did. Thanks for the links I will check them out shortly.
