The voices of online pages and news bulletins of the
Syrian opposition resound to move hundreds of militants
from 'Al-Qusair' wounded for treatment short because of their
condition when something weird occured. In the time when the “Red Cross” was working to open the way for the
injured Syrians from aarsal, one of the aid officials received a call from a
mediator known for his relationship with “FSA” in ‘Al-Qusair’ and Hezbollah.
The mediator requested from the aid official to ask the “Red Cross” for
sufficient vehicles to transport the wounded to hospitals in North Lebanon. Only
hours had passed since one of the cars belonging to the "Red Cross” was
stoned when transporting one of the wounded, prompting officials to show hesitancy
in the event there was no cover and the coordination with the clans of the
region to secure the safe passage from the Bekaa to North Lebanon. The mediator
later said: “Hezbollah will secure a road for the wounded to Kobayat.”
The number of ambulances
to transfer the wounded from Hermel after arriving to city was organized by 2
am, but a call from the mediator changed things. The wounded were not in Hermel
but in the Lebanese-Syrian border village called ‘Hosh Al-Sayed Ali’.
While the cars were moving in the direction of delivery
point, we noticed prevalent Hezbollah members reached its peak at the point of
delivery. The active youths of the 'Red Cross' asked the wounded about their
injuries. The scene was strange. Even more surprising with a 'dialogue' between
a member of ‘Hezbollah’ and one of the rebels wounded:
“God reward you O’
Hezbollah”, said one of the wounded. Silence and then added: “We fought and
here you are coming to our aid in the time when everyone has forsaken us».
The Hezbollah member
standing next to him replied: “Not a favor from us, this is ordered by our
religion, this is what we have learned about the treatment of the wounded, even
if our enemy, I hope you review your view of us”.
Hard to believe this
talk, but there are witnesses from members of the International Lebanese Red
Cross and the wounded rebels who are now in hospitals in northern Lebanon.
But, the question
remains: How they arrived here and why are they with Hezbollah, specifically?
According to informed
sources, one of the officials of the Free Syrian Army in al-qusair, after the
situation after the wounded became critical, contacted the mediator and asked
him to mediate with Hezbollah to allow the transfer of the wounded to Lebanon.
This coincided with political connections asking to open a safe passage for the
wounded in the direction of Lebanon. It did not take long until the answer came
from the leadership of Hezbollah in the positive.
that a group of the Hezbollah transferred 35 wounded from inside Syrian
territory to the territory of Lebanon, and communicated with the 'Red Cross' to
secure their transfer to hospitals identified by the Free Syrian Army. There
also was coordination with the clans in the region in order not to close the
roads or object any car that transported the wounded amid great surprise by circles
overseeing the process, all while silent Hezbollah refused to comment.
Statistical process of
counting wounded ended (by Hezbollah) and handed them over to the 'Red Cross'
and transferred from cars of Hezbollah to ambulances, the convoy then set off
in the direction of the headquarters 'Red Cross' in Hermel where Hezbollah does
not exist. The wounded had more freedom to say what they want. We approached
one of the cars and a group of people with whom one has a critical injury in
one of his feet. I asked him if he was in al-qusair, ‘definitely’ he answered, I
asked him: 'Is it not weird that Hezbollah delivered you to the Red Cross?’ He
looked to one of his comrades and smiled and then looked at me, saying: ‘Weird!
Why weird? God reward them! The ones with us only talk, but Hezbollah says and
does, God reward them.
