Bradley Manning
Part of channel(s): Iraq (current event), Afghanistan (current event)

Bradley Manning was the US soldier who allegedly leaked the trove of US
intelligence data that shot Wikileaks to fame. A history of mental
instability suggests he should never have been drafted into the US army.
"Low
flying planes could see that kid wasn't suitable; he was a wreck", a
soldier who trained with Manning tells us. A young man totally unsuited
to military life, he had enlisted just to get a university education. He
was targeted for his size and sexual orientation, and ultimately lost
his way amongst the boredom and isolation of his base in Iraq. Military
psychiatrists called him, "a risk to himself and others". So why was
Manning given access to so much classified information? He was kept on,
despite advice that he be discharged, because the US Military was short
of soldiers in Iraq. Numerous incidents were reported but still Manning
was retained, until he punched a female soldier in the face. At this
point he was demoted and told he would finally be discharged. Left
without a job, friends or any chance of university education, Manning
turns to his last refuge: his computer friends. "I'm not sure whether
I'd be considered a type of 'hacker', 'leaker', or what", he confides to
famous hacker Adrian Lamo, who 24 hours later will inform US
Intelligence of Manning's confession.

    • @getevennotmad there were alot of reservists brought in who never expected to be drafted in to help out.

      they considered it a draft.

they liked the computer game version of war.

    • @OwenHiggins they are stupid if they think being called up is being drafted. i have never heard of any reservist saying they thought it was a draft.

    • @VikingRapeSquad i heard one twirting that and think thats what his main issue was, his main liability. He wasn't a warrior.

Even a support kid needs to be a warrior. Not a killing machine. A warrior.

I don't mean all reservists at all. I mean just the ones like Manning. He also had to have known what he was doing... gay or not it matters little.

The tiny minority of service men or women who couldn't handle it. They thought of it like a draft.

      Sheltered little existences.

    • @Martyr_Machine It's kind of ironic you call him treasonous, yet most of the information he released was nothing less than treason.

      - Have to agree with "stra"! The only damage that was caused was mostly embarrassment for the government, that got caught doing things that maybe they shouldn't have been doing. You're just believing the propaganda. Look into this story deeper, and you can see beyond the bullshit.

Have you read any of it? No. You are just regurgitating what you heard like most liberals.

You don't know that. Tell me how "deep" you looked. Tell me what the documents you read say.

      - Hey, Martyr Machine! I checked it out at Wikileaks. It was easy. You can too, if you wish. It is very time consuming, but everything that was released by Wikileaks, is there for viewing. A lot of it is very, very boring! I saw a lot that could embarrass the government, some to a high degree, but most, no. Never saw anything that was really shocking. Nothing too out of the ordinary, compared with the lies and deceit that we are used to seeing from the government.

  • Hey "CPT" Spaulding. There has not been a draft in over 30 years. U.S. armed forces are all volunteer. Exactly what are you a CPT of?

  • PS Those guys that were shot in the video had just attacked an American foot patrol earlier which is why they were targeted.

  • I've spoken with people who had pretty high level of access in the military and none of them think he would have had access to all those different things. This dude is a patsy.

    He should be shot.

    • @wharris you should be shot

      Posted Jun-1-2012 By

      (-4)

    • @EMAG-K
      Why is that?
Because I think traitors should be shot?
Or because I think Pvt. Manning was a traitor?

      Posted Jun-1-2012 By

      (1)

    • @wharris because you think someone like Manning should be killed. Thats why. Maybe jailed, not killed.

And this site has spme pretty interesting facts

      http://www.bradleymanning.org/news/what-did-wikileaks-reveal

"Known Egyptian torturers received training from the FBI in Quantico, Virginia."

"U.S. officials were told to cover up evidence of child abuse by contractors in Afghanistan."

Unveiling a coverup off fucked up thing US government commits. Only government sheeps do More..

    • @EMAG-K
I believe what Pvt. Manning did was treasonous.
Clearly his actions gave "Aid and Comfort" to our enemies (al Qaeda) in a time of war.
The United States Code at 18 U.S.C. § 2381 states:
"Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death…:
I think he meets the criteria.

      Posted Jun-1-2012 By

      (1)

    • @wharris yeah well he meets the criteria of those yes.
But tell me how did Al-Qaeda "aid" by revealing for example those two things I mentioned?
And how did Al-Qaeda get ANY aid from what he revealed? I cant come up with anything?

Most of the things he revealed were things like ( Im making these up ) "France president things Serbian president is a fat" and Georgian troops were inside Russia for excercise".
Nothing jawdropping like "USA has secret military base in t More..
