I have to say that killing uniformed soldiers at a checkpoint is more an act of war than "terrorism"... I am not going to say I understand all the back story to it all but at least it wasn't shooting civilians in the back or something.

Correction:
Foreign terrorists originally started killing civilians and military targets as part of a Salafist driven attack on Syria.
As a result a significant number of citizens and military were killed in terrorist attacks.

That bunker was loaded to the gills with IEDs. While the big explosion on the right gets most of ones attention, replay at :38 over and over, note to the left ordnance blowing up what looks like a cannon and the SAA mechanic bubba playing with it reaching for the sky.
