Nov 7, 2007 Virginia Beach
"It sounded like a bomb!" That's how Alvin Ross describes a crash he heard in a neighbor's Virginia Beach yard.
Ross then rushed outside with a fire extinguisher to put out flames on the driver's truck.
Don Bunyan's work van, parked on the street was hit by a drunk driver.
It was caught on tape by a home security camera Bunyan had installed because of vandalism.
He called police then asked his auto insurance company for a rental car.
He claims the company told him no because he doesn't have collision insurance. "It's the other driver's fault and it should be able to cover me on a rental vehicle," he says.
He expects a claims adjustor to come out and look at his damaged van sometime late Friday. But Bunyan says he's losing work with no rental vehicle as his claim goes unsettled.
