so, i personally think I might have a good idea as to how this is done, but it's still amazing how he fooled Penn and Teller with it

My best guess is that the trickster is an expert at card-arranging, and has worked out a scheme using patterns on the cards that will spell out the card of his choice when he spreads the deck. It appears similar to the patterns of a dot-matrix printer that produce text. It would require some masterful sleight-of hand! Voted.
