  • George W. Bush was an interesting POTUS. The country was divided as pro- and anti-war with the feeling that we were hijacking other countries. Obama, on the other hand, has successfully divided us as Americans, pitting very personal values against each other, way beyond just foreign policy; hijacking OUR country.

    I’m not a crazed right wing fanatic, so I don’t believe Obama is doing this on purpose. I think he actually feels his opinions are best for everyone and they trump any collate More..

      Good points... Regardless, there are many who feel that the so called, "war on the middle class" which is a real problem started in the Bush era. Corporate tax cuts which didn't create jobs but rather shipped jobs overseas, etc.

      That, in many opinions divided America more than anything Obama has done. Economically, we are recovering from a very bad recession which was caused by debt under the Bush Admin (coupled with many other factors, I know)..

      I don't see how you are blaming the recession on Bush and then pointing to the housing crisis as proof?

      The whole housing paradigm changed with Clinton. He believed home ownership should be more accessible for all Americans. (Sound familiar *cough* health care *cough*?)

  • Serious question here, all racism aside, are there any black LL'ers who have seen the condition of South Africa and felt grateful that their ancestors were brought to America as slaves?
