Let the Bashing begin .. But 1st know , The USPS is a right to work entity. The UNION represents all employees even if they are not paying members of the union. This issue is not about UNIONS wanting more. Its about the a manufactured Crisis to KILL the post office and the middle class workers.

  • Whatever, just shipped a few items today under $5 each with USPS. With United Punce Service/Fudingo Express they'd be two to three times as much depending on the location.

    As much as my govmn't service is there I'm gonna be a Patriot by helping keep a roll on my Federal employees. Hooraaa!

Letters were once a staple of the postal service, in no small part because the USPS has a monopoly over mail in this country.     • @buzzardist It's absolutely a manufactured crisis. They were forced to cough up 75 years worth of pensions and healthcare costs in 10 years. What company can be forced to prepay 75 years worth of employee overhead and not go belly up? The other federal agencies have borrowed(stolen) funds from USPS just like they have taken money from Social Security.

      I agree that the pension rule is idiotic, but if anything it's just another argument for keeping the USPS more distanced from the federal government. Congress gets to set the pension contributions for USPS, which means that they can use that money to shore up the federal budget elsewhere, just as they've done with Social Security for decades. Solution? Separate USPS from the government so that Congress can't do this.
