  • real UE number is 23%!! Shadowstats.com calculates the rate using all data unlike fed agencies that leave... forget about people!

There are 88+ million off the work force.... couple that with the 12+ million unemployed on the books and you have over 100 million people out of work/underemployed!!

Yep, the numbers are bullshit. I know a lot of people that lost their jobs and nobody calls in to say "He add me on the list".

The only figures can come from those on unemployment. Those who have had benefits expire are no longer counted.

  • I got laid off, not because of Obama. It is because the owner of the company that I worked for didn't do a good job of managing his own business.

  • Face it even if the number of jobs created for the month was 960,000 the Republicans would still yell 'well it wasn't 1.5 million so Obama is a FAILURE!'

Absolutely NOTHING that the Dems do or whatever reports or facts that favor them would EVER get the GOP to acknowledge that the Dems were doing even a half decent job at this point. All they give a shit about is getting into the White House and THEN we'll see how much of a fuck he gives about the average American. I'm gonna bet not alot.

Maybe so, but the number IS 96k.
Nothing one party does is ever good enough to the other. Your point is moot because it's been that way (from both sides) for a long, long time. I thought we were hoping for a change from this guy.

Crawling out of a recession TAKES TIME, but in this day and age where life is fast, if problems aren't fixed right away then its seen as a failure rather than a simply a slower than expected recovery.

Seriously as long as the economy keeps improving even if its slowly then what's the problem? It took many years for this recession to develop yet people want it fixed in just a few and you're telling me that's realistic? Possibly it might be, but most of the time its not. People just do More..

    • @John_Matrix I agree we live in a microwave society where people want what they want NOW. I agree that it will take time to fix. I
disagree however, that Obama even has a clue as to how to fix it. He's shown nothing. He's in over his head and has NO ACHIEVEMENTS in his record that suggest otherwise. Now he wants 4 more years. Why should we give it to him? I'm not asking for microwave speed. 4 years is a lifetime to some, and we as a nation don't have that kind of time.

I think he's been SEVERELY handicapped by the Republicans trying to block and disrupt EVERYTHING he's been trying to do the past few years, so to me its really unfair to say 'Obama has done very little' when the other side is cockblocking you all the time.

If Obama had been allowed to mostly do what he really wanted, THEN you could judge him fairly on his policies and their effects, but since most of them have either been compromises or rejected because of the GOP, how can you point More..

  • And once the Seasonal Summer Jobs are gone...Like Best buy, Walmart, Lowes, Kmart...you'll see it return to 8.7%. Summer jobs are Part Time....and they will be gone soon till next year.
