Be sure to tune into the Retro TV channel as we explore and discuss the
heyday of TV with those
popular (and maybe not so popular) obscure,
funny, and forgotten themes and credits. Re-live a little
of that old
timey TV nostalgia harkening back to simpler days.

Please comment on what you think of the presentation format. Suggestions
for the series always welcome in the video or Retro TV channel
comments.

I like them too. They kind of add work to each vid. I research a bit to make sure it was possible the TV bumpers and commercials aired around the same time as the show.

For instance I wouldn't put an 80's commercial with a 70's show opening theme or what not. At least I'm trying to get it as close as I can with the available material I have and can search out.

I think they help fill out the video just a bit while keeping it moving right along.

      Glad you're enjoying em.

  • I think David Hasselhoff was the beginning of the end for golden era of TV. Or perhaps it simply was a symptom of the fact that the writers could no longer sustain it. Naw, It was Hasselhoff what done it! LMAO

  • Could the US once make a video device that was not for the military/prison or law enforcement industries?

There are some US TV shows that are not specifically about the military/prisons or law enforcement. But US TV is heavily geared toward authoritarian propaganda of that sort.

The premise for the show Knight Rider has a strange twist to it. A corporation owned by a billionaire, knight industries, takes it upon itself to form a private justice program named FLAG (Foundation for Law and Government).

So the show is basically propaganda to establish private industry as an alternative More..
