Suez In Perspective (1960) British Public Information Films.
Sponsor: Central Office of Information for Foreign Office
This film is about the controversial Suez Canal Crisis in 1956.
"The film was made in 1960 four years after Suez. It views the Suez Crisis from a British perspective and does not offer alternative interpretations, as such it is a one-sided view. It is interesting as it shows how one participant in the Suez crisis, the British, justified their actions in the aftermath of the event".
(the above was the accompanying txt with the original film)
I was struck by the phrase at 2.50 about Russia supplying arms for Nasser's 'often declared intention of wiping Israel off the map' ...looks like some things just never change!
Note; some 18+mins long, b&w historical film of 50+ years ago, if it's not your idea of entertainment you'd be well advised to give it a miss, sorry. However, for admirers of the genre etc, wtc.......
