  • NOOOOO! There's NO global warming and severe, out of the ordinary climate change going on! I like to listen to the likes of James Inhofe, Allen West, and Rick Santorum. These guys are world respected scientists ya know!

    • @Poutso Tornado's happen all over the world, this is not a phenomenon that only happens in the US, nothing to do with global warming.

    • @someone2 Quick news for you uneducated dolt... the frequency of tornados have increased GREATLY, and they are now occuring in parts of the world that traditionally do NOT get them to the degree they are now. I listen to the majority of respected climatologist scientists, not people like you.

    • @Poutso You listen only to the scientists that support your views. Most agree that the climate is changing(its always changing & has never been stable) but are split on how much humans have to do with it.

In 2012 the US has seen fewer tornadoes than average. All this sky is falling bullshit coming from the Liberals is just a good way of making money.

    • @coyoteentrails how exactly do you make money off of this? Or is that just your way of saying people lie??

    • @Poutso Please provide factual proof. I will in return provide weather data for the region of your choosing to show that this is a very common phenomena. Also I never disputed global warming I am just saying that these 2 things are unrelated, but it is an easy mistake to make for the uneducated.

  • Soon to come, Italian scientists will be charged with manslaughter for not predicting this sooner....

  • Incredible unlucky times for Taranto town! Note that just the days before the staff of Ilva factory announced the closure and that all the workers will be fired! And then the tornado! Unbelievable

    • @pbusby People living there for thousands years didn't know it too...
But still someone says climate change is only a fantasy... -_____-

  • Tornadoes in Italy??? It has begun.

  • Ironically that plant was at the center of a dragging dispute like, we should close, no we shouldn't, yes we should, no we shouldn't... big financial troubles, eco-troubles (polluting too much), unions putting up huge fights etc...
So it seems that mother nature got tired and laid its hand on the case. I think they should be happy, this disaster will give them a reason for shutting down without anyone getting their hands dirty, plus they will collect some decent insurance money. If it wasn't imp More..

  • Will Italy arrest and imprison the weather men for not correctly predicting the tornado?

    Posted Nov-29-2012 By

  • Hmmm.... I thought that tornadoes were pretty much a US phenomenon. I mean I know that typhoons happen in the Pacific Island areas, but... whatever. I've just never really heard news stories of major tornado damage outside the US.

    • @ThoroughlyBaked I thought so too, is it normal or the weather is changing?

      Posted Nov-28-2012 By

      (0)

    • @ThoroughlyBaked Tornadoes are definately more frequent in the US due to moist and warm Gulf of Mexico air which moves North and converges with cooler westerlies or polar continental air from Canada. Tornadoes need shearing (for rotation), moisture, and conditional instability(like a thermal inversion)so there's no reason they won't occur in other places. I've heard of tornadoes occuring in western Europe, Australia and NewZealand. We get a few here, in Alberta, but they're almost always itty- More..

    • @markoni never seen a tornado in this country, never in my life. but the explanation from Chitaiyah is correct. I think we're all in for a ride.

      Posted Nov-28-2012 By

    • @markoni I confirm! The climate and crazy, blame pollution, too much carbon dioxide, the greenhouse effect starts to show its first catastrophic effects.
Southern Italy is becoming a tropical climate.
We must do something before it is too late.

    • @SimplyMiky Well it's too bad, the most industrialized country in the world has morons making decisions for it. They don't believe in climate change, and this tornado was god's will. Fucken republicans, only now after what happened in New York, they are starting to second guess themselves...

  • From what I understand tornados are pretty rare in Europe. I used to live in Oklahoma and it seemed like I would have to go down to the storm shelter once a week. Which is one reason why I moved. My thoughts and prayers are with the injured and those who suffered property damage, these storms are hell.

    • @SG6578 yah, there aren't like any tornados ever, though in all of europe (even most nothern parts) twisters do occur at sea and then comes ashore and destroys forests and power lines once a year.
