Inside the tunnels of the Somme battlefield. World War 1 France
A team of British and French archaeologists have entered a labyrinth of tunnels beneath the Somme Battlefield in France.
The tunnels, 80 feet down, were dug so that troops could lay explosives below enemy lines.

The tunnel stories are unbelievable. Both parties digging under the other and then turning the tunnel in an XXL landmine/bomb under the trench of the enemy.
