      Just over 10% of Detroit residents are white. Only Africa has less.

      There's 71,377 whites living in Detroit, that's a lot of white people in Detroit, that's my only point. And Africa is a continent not a single country or city, so how is it in anyway comparable to bring that up? And did you forget about Haiti, Japan, China, Mexico, India etc etc when you said that? Cause I"m pretty sure whites are a very small proportion of the populations there too!

  • Aspen is a playground for the liberal elite. Thus, they feel very "progressive" when they have an opportunity to meet a non-threatening black minstrel. He's their black minstrel.
    These same rich white people have nothing but contempt for the lift operators - many non-white AND some black - from foreign countries who work for about $10.00 per hour. Ask the black and hispanic waiters in the expensive Aspen restaurants how well they are treated by these rich white people. There is not More..

      I tend to agree with the majority of your statement except to say that if you think it's just rich "liberals" doing that then you are sorely mistaken. I will guarantee you that there are quite a few rich conservatives and Republicans that hold the exact same views, it has nothing to do with party and more to do with them all being "rich white people". But like I said I agree with you on everything except that part

      You make a good point. A lot of these affluent people claim to be "colorblind" but they exist in communities where minorities are non-existent, and it's not a coincidence.

      I agree rich people, especially rich people who have been given wealth, are often obnoxious regardless of political persuasion.
      Yet, I know Aspen pretty well. I have skied there for over a decade. I like the mountains there. When I talk with the lift operators, hotel staff, waiters, cleaners, they are always a little surprized I take the time to have conversations with them. I have never seen other guests engaging in conversations with "the help." Plus, drive a little o More..
