Diane Sawyer Hits Gore on Profits From Global Warming
This item updates item ''

Diane Sawyer conducted a surprisingly tough interview with Al Gore on Tuesday, pressing him on profiting from global warming and whether or not climate change legislation is pointless in light of pollution-spewing countries such as China. She also forced the ex-Vice President to respond to a challenge from Glenn Beck.

  • This country will never move forward if we keep asking politicians to solve our problems for us.

    • Believing that man is having an adverse effect on the environment is one thing.

Believing that as so long as we give politicians an endless money supply and complete control over the distribution of the worlds natural resources that in doing so they somehow will be able to regulate the temperture of the planet is another fairy tail altogether.

    • You just made my day, people as stupid as you should have a third (worthless) party to vote for. You change nothing, and that is exactly where we want you to be, doing nothing, having ZERO impact on our lives.

    • Riiight. Because in the stone age the cavemen had limited constitutional government that protected the natural rights of individuals. **rolls eyes**

I know taking care of yourself is an old outdated idea - the new thing is to have the goverment provide for you - it's free after all - at least they tell you it is.

      Enjoy Despotism.

    • Man is the source of the earths major ills. The computer models of MIT couldn't even predict the rate at which the earth is changing.

go research the water cycle, then go research how much of it we've rendered unusable.
Go research bleached coral reefs and salmon population depletion.

The scientific data is indisputable. With the rise in human population came a rise in pollution and resource depletion.

    • I don't buy it. The earth is 4 1/2 billion years old. Mankind has been around for about 100,000 years. If you condensed the age of the Earth into one calendar year, mankind arrived on the scene on December 31st a couple of minutes before midnight. If you only count technically advanced modern mankind with the ability to litter and pollute, then we arrived a couple of seconds before midnight on December 31st.

We haven't been here long enough to do the kind of damage required for global warmin More..

    • Well, if producing too much CO2 is creating more hurricanes and other tropical storms it has its repercutions on cities situated next to seas and rivers. National geographic journal has stated very recently that New Orleans is doomed due to the rise of the sea level and the amount of tropical stroms in the future.
Is that enough national security for you?

i wonder if he mentioned that that particular hurricane was formed during an el nino year in which warm water from the western pacific is upwelled along the american coasts. a completely natuaral occurance.

  • If you honestly believe that man alters the weather in any small way, you are either a mindless drone who believes what your leaders tell you or simply a blithering idiot.

Man is not powerful enough to fukk this planet up with the exception of littering which is really just cosmetic.

Al Gore, like most liberals, is a lying, sleazy piece of horse sh*t and if you fukkwads actually think he's out for anything more than a buck than you are a fool.

The green movement is purely political.

  • recycled paper takes more energy to produce than normal paper. you must first collect it in large truck then its shipped to w/e country it will be recycled in. then drenched in bleach broken down mixed with new paper and remade.. then shipped back again.

its much better to just toss it in the garbage you save emissions from all the trucks and boats.

hell you want more trees? burn your paper and buy all new stuff.. the company's that make paper will plant many many more trees that way .
    More..

    Posted Nov-3-2009 By

    (3) | Report

    • Just a question. How do all the trees get to the paper plant? And how does your paper trash leave your house? One more for you how do they process new paper? Your paper recycling analogy is very flawed. Don't get me wrong this whole debate about climate change is flawed on both sides but you are painting a rosy picture of wasting natural resources with no consequences. If none of this was a problem and we could just "use at will" like you suggest, then logging companies would not have More..

    • Don't forget the highly toxic runoff from the plants that recycle the paper.
All that ink and stuff on the paper turns into the nastiest toxic sludge you can imagine.
I used to work at one of those plants, until they figured out there wasn't enough money in it because the toxic waste we produced had to be properly (and expensively) disposed of.
