California, take it or leave it?

This idea came to mind after reading nancy pelosi blame the oil spill on GWB. California is broke, filled with illegals already, and they seem to really want to keep it for themselves. I thought, why don't we send all illegals there, and return the state to mexico. Leaving all the idiot politicians inside, losing their citizenship to the US, and their offices in Washington DC.

We could swap california for Puerto Rico, and our flag does not need to change.........

BTW, before you ask, I am American, living in the Philippines.....

  • If we gave them California that would only add to amount of borders we would have to secure. Hell,the Feds will not even secure what borders we have and does anyone really think giving them California would make it any better? NOPE.

  • Not a good poll. CA is part of the US. It has played an integral if not the integral part in shaping much of the culture of this country. It is varied in people and topography, and has inspired so many. I would not be so quick to abandon such a great state b/c of an illegal population crisis and poor economy. These situations can be remedied, in fact they may be intertwined at least partially.

  • I'm in California and most of the criticism is valid from people in the other 49 is valid. BUT Los Angeles alone is the 9th largest economy in the world. It's down bu not out (yet). It will probably take 20 more years before it's really messed up beyond repair.
