I found a treasure! A real one. Bracket clock app. 1780.
 Part of channel(s): Liveleakers (promoted)

For the sickos, I waited with posting untill it was in the save of the bank. I am not paranoid or dumb, just precautious Untill its value is determined and its auctioned its home is in the safe!!
So nothing to find at my place FYI. ;)
No shit, I have been cleaning and polishing for 20 hours easily. Only the gold and brass (handle and feet) parts.
I want to show it PLUS I have some questions..
Picture 1 and 2 were made after the first real cleaning. I did not clean the brass engraved plate and the silver dial and engravement ( dont want to destroy it and wipe off the paint in the engravements) the rest I made after realising it was real and solid. Nothing plated here. for sure!!
The jewellers only know about gold and jewelry. I also sent a specialist in London an email. this was the reply.. (lol)
"The case and dial ornaments are usually made of
brass, sometimes with a gold coloured lacquer applied. I do not believe the
ornaments on your clock are gold - they are made of brass. Brass like gold is a
soft metal so is also easily bent. Brass also polishes to a nice shine when
metal polish is used."

This version has brass obviously, only one I could find. ..

This is as shiny ass brass can get : http://www.debonoconsulting.com/images/six-value-medals-brass.JPG

Shiny is something else as reflecting light without loss of lumen strenght. I know how gold looks and feels like. It bends.. the exact same flexibility as the 20gr. gold bare I had. and the same bite. (these bares are also 24k)
A few months ago I found this http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=188_1340796500 (18.3 grams of gold 18k) and plate of the maker 1.6 grams € 4.75 but thats nothing now.. (you can see it in one of the pics) ;)

Almost a week ago at the same second hand store (yeah I love that shit)
I walked towards a shelf and an employee put this clock down. And I asked, only 5 euros? In perfect condition. but the gold looked like brass/bronze was so dirty..
"Yeah it doesnt tick and these are not attached. And she lifted one of the pineapples." (turned out to be a 24k solid piece of gold.) 3000+euros... loool and she put it back on.

It is ENGRAVED not built by thomas smith london, famous dude.. http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Smith,_John_Thomas_(1766-1833)_(DNB00) very famous. alot to find.

--- "Who knows what the lady with the hawk (?) and sea anchor stands for?" ---

The pineapples stand for seafarers who put one in front of their door after a long journey to a faraway place. ( where they have pineapples ) hehe. My guess is that is belonged to some sea hero who has been places. Thats what the Dutch were famous for. .. probably for a VOC member/boss http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dutch_East_India_Company these dudes had money..

I am looking fo more info. The mechanic inside is renewed app 40 ears ago. But that doesnt matter for these things. It is more the evgraver who is important on these custom made clocks I foubn ONE of the same model. See pic.. brass instead of gold. The clock stops ticking, and the bell rings when you move the time manually. Its walnut wood. the gold parts:
4xpineapple: 24k (99.9% pure gold!!) eacht 60 grams
4x triangle on plate also 24k each 30 grams
side ornaments (whitegold) palladium with gold ORT 18k. (not exaclty determined yet) 2x75 grams.
Is aprobably 30 grams a gram. 12000euro + 4500euro +4300euro. (approximately)
But its 230 years old.. so these prices are probably still a joke.
