@ST0N3PONY Yeah...except that it blows about $3000 in 30 seconds... assuming you use commercial grade .308 rounds which are about $10 for a box of 20 rounds. The mini-gun fires about 166 rounds per second... so 166*30= about 5000
5000/20= 250
250*$10= $2500 for 30 seconds. Keep in mind this isn't military or government grade so its cheaper.

@veryniceilike Oh, yeah of course. I wasn't really referring to the Mini Gun specifically. Just these people in general. There are only a few mini guns in private hands. The South is full of heavily armed people though. Not even the US military would be able to stage an effective occupation. Any military in the world would tuck tail and run.

I thought 6,000 rounds per minute was more or less a maximum. As I recall there's a US military mini-gun that fires 6k at its fastest. So, 100 rounds per second at most. And I don't think any gun in that video was firing as fast as that.
You should probably adjust your math.
Even so, there's no question about it: Those things are massively expensive to fire.
Incidentally, I recently bought 20-round boxes of 7.62x39 at Wal-Mart for under $5 per box. That's retail, small q More..

I'm not sure you've ever gone beyond some FPS videogame.
These folks have fun shooting but when you also get precise incoming the game turns to fewer folks NOT having fun shooting their guns among friends screaming in pain with their guts hanging out, women with missing limbs wandering in horror instead of cooking hotdogs and some little corpses laying still like frozen that once were children.
