  • When I was a kid growing up in the 70's this sort of tragedy was a much more regular occurance. Back then very few people crashed at 200 mph and survived. Nowadays some racers say they feel much safer crashing at 200 mph in a race car than at 60 mph in a regular car. Still, I doubt it will ever be 100% safe. It'll get better. Maybe they won't have another fatality for a decade (hopefully). But this is the life they chose, and it has risks.

  • RIP Dan, looked like a very rough ride. I just wish he would have slowed down a little quicker, too many people nowadays trying to be brave and drive through accidents when they should slam on the brakes a little harder.
